A list is a named group of people: a prospect pipeline, the households one advisor covers, everyone you met at a conference. In this article, we'll walk through how to build lists, how to work inside them, and how to keep them organized.
Lists are different from your network. Your network is the people who can make introductions for you, and we use it to map relationships; a list is any grouping you want, purely for your own organization. Someone can sit on as many lists as you like.
Two lists are built for you and always sit at the top of the page: All Saved People (everyone on any of your team's lists) and People with Notes. Both keep themselves up to date, so you can't add to them directly.
To save one person, click the button at the top of their profile and pick the lists you want them on. In any page of search results, check the boxes next to the rows you want and click the same button in the toolbar above them.
To save everything a search returned, click the button, which carries the total your search found. Save All tops out at 50,000 people at a time.
Click any list on the page to open it and see who's inside. Opening a list is really a search scoped to it, so the search bar at the top now searches within the list, and the filter panel narrows it exactly the way it narrows a full search.
Each list also opens with insights: top interests, a net worth distribution, and a few specific observations about the people on it. Click any segment of a chart to filter the list down to it.
To remove people from a list, select them inside the list, click the button in the toolbar, and uncheck the list. Their place on any other list is untouched.
Here are the things you'll do most with a list, and where they live:
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Edit the name | Click the button to edit the list's name inline. |
| Export | Click the button to download the whole list at once. |
| Add to network | Click the button to add everyone on the list to your network. |
| Delete | Click the button to remove the list. |
| Move | Drag a list (or folder) into a folder. |
You can also organize your lists into folders, as shown here:
Everything you do in search works inside a list. Since opening a list runs a search scoped to it, filters, sorting, and exporting a selection all behave exactly the way they do on a full search.
Next up: exporting data — getting profiles out as a spreadsheet or a PDF, with exactly the columns you want.
